Meet Melinda & Doug
Two creative voices, one shared vision.
Flowerness Farm is the creative home of artist Melinda Kirkpatrick and writer Doug Kirkpatrick, where painting, storytelling, history, literature and the character of New England come together.
MEET THE ARTIST
Melinda Kirkpatrick
Melinda grew up in central Massachusetts surrounded by the flower gardens created by her mother, who is also an artist. From an early age, art, nature and beauty became an important part of the way she experienced the world.
Today, Melinda creates expressive, folk-inspired paintings influenced by New England history, literature, the sea and the natural world. Her work often incorporates antique frames, and architectural pieces, allowing the history and character of the materials themselves to become part of each piece.
Her paintings frequently combine imagery with words, literary references and quiet storytelling, creating artwork that feels both newly imagined and connected to another time.

Together, Melinda and Doug bring visual art and the written word into one creative world. Melinda paints. Doug writes. A romance between art and words.
Flowerness Farm provides a home for those ideas - a historic Brimfield property where painting, writing, restoration, gardens and new creative projects continue to evolve.
